Operating Principle
New type plume abatement and water saving integrated fills are installed at the filling layer inside the cooling tower. The fills are divided into dry and wet channels. By utilizing the draft of the fan, the ambient cold air (cold source) is divided into two routes and directed into the cooling tower. One route of cold air carries out indirect heat exchange with the circulating water (heat source) of the wet channel in the dry channel while the other route of cold air carries out contact heat exchange with the circulating water in the wet channel. The two routes of air after exchanging heat are thoroughly mixed at the mixing section after leaving the fills. The air discharged from the fan stack is unsaturated, that is, no plume is generated.
During the plume abatement process, as the sprayed hot water carries out indirect heat exchange with one route of dry cold air at the area of fills, there is no evaporation of the spray water for the heat exchange of this part, which reduces the evaporation of the circulating water, thereby achieving the purpose of water saving.
